MTN GIVES SCHOLARSHIP TO 112 STUDENTS

A total of 112 brilliant but visually impaired students of tertiary institutions in the South East geo-political zone have bagged MTN Foundation scholarship worth N200, 000 each.

NGO PROVIDES FREE MEDICARE FOR THE ELDERLY

The exercise conducted by the NGO, in partnership with Managed Healthcare Services Limited, revolved around screening in high blood pressure, glaucoma and other debilitating health conditions.

Spokesman of the NGO, Mrs Busola Opeolu, said the exercise was one in the series that would take the group to 12 other states of the federation.

NBC HOSTS 200 FARMERS ACROSS NIGERIA

FG APPROVES N27B FOR FERTILISER, CANCELS DISTRIBUTION BY GOVERNMENT

W.H.O WORRIES OVER POLIO UPSURGE IN NIGERIA

World Health Organisation (WHO) has described as worrisome some of the recent upsurge of polio transmission in the country.

WHO Country Representative, Dr David Okello decried the continued transmission of the killer disease noting that though the ERC has been talking and reviewing steps since it was set up, it has become pertinent to take concrete steps and actions.

FG ADOPTS E-WALLET FOR FERTILIZER, SEED DISTRIBUTION

The Federal Government on Wednesday approved a technology-enabled [platform, called Growth Enhancement Support System, for the distribution of fertilizers and seeds to the farmers in the country.

The Minister of Information, Mr Labaran Maku, and his Agriculture said the contract was awarded for N1321bn and would run till 2014

CONTAINER TERMINAL: FIRMS SIGN MOU

Nigeria’s quest to develop Greenfields in the sustainable development of the maritime sector of the economy has been given a boost.

International Container Terminal Services Incorporation (ICTSI) signed the MoU with Lekki Port LFTZ Enterprise (LPLE) to operate a container terminal in the country.
