ICT: Over 50% of global population to have internet access by 2017

Going by the surge of mobile broadband over smartphones and tablets globally, indications have emerged that in another three years, over 50 per cent of the world’s population will have Internet access.

Education: Borno Earmarks N71.4 Million to Educate 51 Chibok Girls

The Borno State government has completed plans of educating 51out of 57 escaped abducted Chibok girls at the total cost of N71.4 million per annum in two different secondary schools in the Kaduna-Jos-Zaria axis of the country, Governor Kashim Shettima has stated.

Investment: Unilever’s E150m Investments in 3 years underline FMCG potential

Paul Polman, global CEO, Unilever, revealed that a total of investments worth €150 million were made in the country by his 91-year-old firm, formerly known as Lever Brothers.

According to him, this is a demonstration of the firm’s confidence in the country’s economic prospects and an indication that it would continue to contribute to the economy by creating jobs and wealth.

All Share Index of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) has been ranked among the top 10 best performing indices in the world in 2013.
Outgoing President of the NSE, Aliko Dangote, disclosed this on Wednesday at the 2013 Annual General Meting (AGM) of the Exchange in Lagos.
