Labour: Salaries take N3.5million out of N4.5billion Allocation in Abia State

Salaries and wages of workforce in Abia state is eating N3.5 billion out of about N4.5 billion monthly state allocation from the federation account, Governor Theodore Orji of Abia state has said.

Lamenting the daunting financial encumbrances the state government faces in maintaining the state service, Orji said the problem is further compounded by the parastatals which are supposed to be self sustaining but depend largely on government subvention, making it difficult for the state government to maintain these parastatals.
