Energy: Power Generation’ll rise to 20,000mw in 2016 – Sambo

Vice – President Namadi Sambo yesterday said the country would be able to generate 20,000 megawatts of electricity by 2016. Speaking during an audience with the new executive members of the Alumni Association of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru, Sambo said the transformation agenda had recorded success in key sectors of the economy.

Health: Kwara targets .5m children, pregnant women in community health programme

Kwara State Ministry of Health has kicked off its maternal, neonatal and child health programme across the 16 local government areas of the state.

Speaking with journalists at one of the centres in Ilorin, the commissioner for Health, Alhaji Kayode Issa, said the programme is targeted to provide health care to 500,000 children and pregnant women in the state.

Labour: Labour demands, N1.7bn workers’ entitlements from Arewa Textiles

National Union of Textile, Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria, NUTGTWN, has asked the owners and management of Arewa Textiles Plc, closed since 2005, to pay workers their N1.075 billion entitlements.
